Changes in the law are requiring dyslexia therapists to contribute to full evaluations and the identification of dyslexia. Dyslexia therapists are now being charged with administering tests and contributing to the identification of dyslexia. R.E.A.D. Evaluation and Dyslexia Center is offering a multi-day training of norm-referenced assessments commonly used in identifying dyslexia. This training will equip dyslexia therapists in public school, private school, and private practice with step-by-step test procedures for administering and scoring the Gray Oral Reading Test - Fifth Edition (GORT-5).
This test is Qualification Level B, which may be purchased and/or used by individuals with:
A Master's degree in psychology, education, occupational therapy, social work, counseling, or in a field closely related to the intended use of the assessment, and * formal training in the ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation of clinical assessments.
OR
Certification by or full active membership in a professional organization (such as ASHA, AOTA, AERA, ACA, AMA, CEC, AEA, AAA, EAA, NAEYC, NBCC, IMSLEC, ALTA, AOGPE, NILD, WILSON, YOGA) that requires * training and experience in the relevant area of assessment. * Registrants must be certified by one of the listed organizations or have a Master’s degree.
* This training will provide you with the formal training in the ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation of specific clinical assessments.
** REQUIREMENT **
Participants are required to bring the test manual and protocol for each test being trained in. ** Test kits are not needed for individual use. School districts and/or private practices will often have a test kit for multiple people to use.
* Registration for Assessing Dyslexia and Tying it all Together is required with any test battery training.
